Hello:

I have a Windows 2003 Standard Edition server which I prefer to remotely
administer. When I connect, I get a login dialog box. when I login, I get
a blank blue
screen. No icons, no start button etc.

Has anyone had this problem?

I found the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I discovered that if I logged into the server with its local Admin account
and password I logged in just fine. One of the other admins installed a
feature on our monitoring server which added a GPO at the domain level. The
policy was causing problems with the servers, but no one else. I am still
researching this GPO.

I determined this by running the "gpresult" command on the server once I
finally got in. It will show you what GPOs are applied.

Hope this helps anyone having the same problem.....
