Hi all,

I tried to apply MS patch q824145.exe to fix the problem described in
http://groups.google.co.il/group/mi...922e5754?lnk=st&q=blank+page+ie6&rnum=2&hl=en

(IE6 displays a blank page and "done" at the bottom when browsing
several particular web addresses, which work on another ie6 pc)

Ie6 sp1 Win2k, has all Winupdate updates so far.

When I try to run this patch, I get the error
"you need to have IE6 SP1 to run this update"

even though the Ie6 about box does say it has SP1 update already:

I tried running sfc.exe and then qfechec.exe which reported
Windows2000-KB828741-x86-ENU.EXE needs to be reinstalled, I reinstalled
it but no improvement in the above prob.

update versions:; SP1; Q818529; Q330994; Q822925; Q828750; Q824145;
Q837009; Q832894; Q831167; Q823353, Q867801; Q833989; Q903235

I also tried to find the hotfix patch for urlmon.dll from
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823386 but its only available
directly from the MS beurocracy. has anyone got it?

I have tried almost everything else (what applies) suggested on
http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/blankpge.htm
and not a flicker.

Thanks

IEAK! You supplied alot of information. Its a bit overwelming. I don't realy
have the time to track all of your references so I am only making a guess.
1. Try repairing IE... enter the following at the Run dialog

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance

2. Some web addresses do not resolve well because of routing issues. Do a
tracert on some of the problem web sites that you are experiencing problems
with. Check the timeouts for each hop. (Seems to be alot of re-routing via
Washington... CIA.. I think)

Hope this helps.. Please post back here as I will look for your response.
