Blank Emails

For the short time I was using Windows Mail, I noticed that every once in a
while I would get new emails, but they would be completely blank. No From, no
To, no Subject, no nothing. This doesn't happen when I'm on Windows XP using
Mozilla Thunderbird or Outlook Express, but it did when I was on Windows
Vista using Windows Mail.

Sounds like you had your settings in Tools/Options/Read to "Read all in
Plain Text." Clear that option and try the blank messages again. Notice
any difference?

If not, check your Encoding choices and set them to Windows (European or
ISO) and see if that helps.

WinMail is not really a completed product at this point. But it's a beta
program so bug it.

I understand it's not a completed product, the blank email thing was
something that kept me from fully enjoying Windows Vista, and unfortunately,
I won't know if your solution has helped because I formatted my PC and went
back to Windows XP.

Windows Mail is also subject to ghost messages. Some of these are real and
appear in my OE too, but some are exclusive to Windows Mail. I expect that
to be fixed by RTM.

The problem with that is you get to see even more of the unwanted SPAM. Not
all of it is caught by SPAM filters, and I much prefer to see the SPAM
poetry instead of the "need a bigger ****" messages.
