blank cd shuts down computer

help! i just got a stack of 100 blank cds.. i burned one.. tried a second
one, and as soon as i inserted it, my computer restarted. regardless of when
i put it in, what program, it restarts.. i'd got 99 cds driving me crazy..
did i maybe change some crazy setting??

I take it that it has escaped your notice that the CD's have also affected your
shift keys.

However it is barely readable - were I in your boat, I should have a look at the
BIOS to see how it is organised as far as booting preferences are concerned. It
is highly unlikely that the CD's are at fault.
Try one on a friends computer :-)

Well thank you of your wonderful lesson in grammar, it's ever so
appreciated.. and yes, I did try them on other computers, and they worked. I
know it isn't the cds' fault, as I asked which settings may have gotten
changed?

Fine but did you get into bios to see what is going on there. Very early there
will be a message about hitting either Del or F2 to go into Bios. You will get a
menu there with BOOT being the choice you want to see.
Depending on your make of bios you will have a listing. I see mine starts with
Floppie at the top and then IDE Hard drive. It is a bit silly - I shall take the
floppie to the number 3 - after all not a lot of people bother with floppie now.
IDE has to be at or near the top and certainly before the the CD Rom.

Let me know - I see that the shift key work excellent now. :-)

i think it restarts WHEN she puts the cd in..the system restarts.. not
as on restart..

what did you burn on these disks?
