YOU will regret not updating...someday...sometime. Mark my
words.

Chances are, yes, but it's not a truism as you state it; your
statement is silly. Marking your words for anything more than
entertainment would be silly, too.

hell you can't even run an update with out getting screw'd
I might have worried about your supercilious remark were it not for the fact
that I am not alone with this update problem - or perhaps you are totally
ignorant of the monthly problem.
Being 70 plus I consider myself fortunate that I still have a marble or two
left.
I trust you will be as fortunate.
To keep my mind active, I decided to learn about and use a computer. I am
still learning hence my presence in newsgroups. I also engage in
banter/discussion or whatever with the intelligent and the twerps.

In my circles, I'm finding people who allow the auto-update to take care
if it are having zero problems while those who download and separately
install them are having some problems.
When you check out the updates, are you checking for dependencies of one
upon the other? I've had two machines come in recently which only needed
to have them removed and installed in the right order. Occasionally one
depends on the preceding and if you get that backwards, well ... .

I don't keep track of them because so far I've had zero problems except
for the one that wouldnt' install and which was quickly corrected.

Hi Pop
Yes I think you could be correct with the download order as I have in the
past seen that mentioned.
Having said that, I seem to also remember that in April there were two the
wrong way round, but if you did not read the MS article you would not have
spotted it.
I have tried to find that when I read this post.
A couple of weeks ago I joined in another post where they were speaking
about these updates, and an MVP, said he would sort out the posters problem
and return to the question of the order in which to download. I never did
go back to see if it was mentioned.
So I download one at a time, and in the order they appear.
In the web discussion group, you could not tell how the upgrades were
downloaded.
Some do one each day - might try that.
I just do it the way I do as the consensus in the groups seemed to do it
like that - in partic since there seems to be a regular problem each month.

Did you check to see that what you downloaded didn't depend on one of the
others being present first? More than one person has gotten caught with
this pick & install method; you have to be careful.

Pop`
Yes. I read the descriptions very carefully. I do not run servers and
I do not use Microsoft Office. There was only one update that did not
depend on one or the other.
