Black screen on domain logon

Hi, I can use correctly my notebook (HP Pavillon dv6519ea)with Vista
Ultimate if I use a local account, but since I joined it on my office
domain(Win2003) I can't correctly logon in the domain; I can keep on
correctly logon with a local account and browse the network, but if I
try to logon with my domain account, it shows a black screen with the
white mouse pointer and nothing happens till I press CTRL+ALT+DEL and
then it shows again the logon interface. Lately I tried to logon to
the domain, booting my PC in safe mode and it works: I can logon to
the domain and it creates the profile folder under c:\users but still
doesn't work in normal mode.
Any help? Thanks

Sounds like a corrupt profile. Log on as another user with admin rights,
delete the profile you log onto the domain with, log off, and on as the
domain user. this will recreate your profile, obviously you will loose any
personalization and files under %username%\Documents, but you can get the
files before you delete the profile. There is a remote chance chkdsk will
fix any corruption, but I wouldn't count on it.

I''ll make this try, but I've tell you that I have could not log in to
the domain and never created the profile folder till I tried in safe
mode; so this means that I was in the situation of not having the
profile folder for many days and never had success to log into the
doamin while having any folder profile. I'm afraid could be an HW
problem...

It sounds like something in the domain logon script may not be Vista
compatible. Can you try logging on with a domain administrator account? If
you can then you may have to change your logon scripts or give the domain
users local administrator rights. If you still can't logon try disabling any
logon scripts for that user and see if you can logon.

I got the same problem even if I try to logon with a domain administrator
account; anyway my domain account is member of groups Domain Admins and
Administrators on the Domain Controller and member of group Administrators
on my Vista notebook (I have created a local profile for my domain account
starting Vista in safe mode); there is no logon script for my domain
account.
On my Vista Application event viewer I see: "Application error, application
that caused the error LogonUI.exe version 6.0.6000.16386, module that caused
the error MSVCR70.dll version 7.0.9955.0" or something similar (it's in
italian)
Thanks

Finally I made it! It was the VeriSoft Access sw installed on my
notebook(it reads fingerprints), once I stopped the service,
everything worked properly.
thanks to anybody

Thanks for the update. It's always good to find out what programs aren't
compatible.
