everytime i go to save a picture from the web to my hard
disk, using either the right click and save target option
or the little blue disk that pops up when the mouse
poiner is placed over he picture im only given the option
to save as a untitled bitmap file. i have tried cleaning
the temp, but there is nothing ever in there except
cookies. so i delete the cookies thus emptying the temp
internet folder. but that dont work.

i have also deleted everything in the downloaded program
folder as suggested in the microsoft articles. but again
still the same problem...please help

Cookies are NOT the temp Internet files. Downloaded
Programs are not the files that need to be purged.

Open Internet Explorer, Tools/Internet Options (you can use
shortcut of right clicking the big e icon on the desktop,
select properties) and click the button next to delete
cookies "Delete Files..." and then delete all off-line
content.

You can also use "disk clean-up"

yes i have done that too, and still the same problem.

Dont happen to be using AOL are you?

If so then go to preferences/www
Click the Web Graphics Tab
Choose "never compress"
