Hi,

Boot the WinXP CD, load the Recovery Console. Run fixboot C: from the
prompt.

I just installed a new motherboard and cpu, all the other hardware remained
the same. I needed to repair windows xp when I tried to boot because it
told me that some hardware changed and I needed to do it. I have two
harddrives in the machine, one which is perminate, one that get swapped out
on occasion.

I am confused now, because everything the system seems to be booting off of
the F:drive, not C:drive. When I remove the F: harddrive, it stops in the
bios and does not detact any harddrive. When the F harddrive is in, it
detects both and allows me to access both from within windows.

I have only been on XP for about 2 months, so I am still learning what
happens with this operating system. Can anyone point me in the right
direction? I really want to remove the F harddrive.

thanks
