Hi,

The default location for "My Documents" for each user is:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\My Documents

Why are you trying to move it? The location you mention is a "mirror" of the
true location. The steps in the article is for those who want to move it
from thier profile to another logical volume on the system.

When I had WinME the My Documents folder resided on C: drive. I want the
same setup on XP but when I followed the instructions on "How to Change the
Default Location of the My Documents Folder" at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310147/EN-US/ to change the target to C:\,
the My Documents folder is showing not on C: but almost as another drive,
between My Computer and My Network Places (in Windows Explorer). How can I
get the My Documents folder onto my C: drive?

Thanks.

Silas

You are seeing a logical 'view' of the folder in the directory tree, not a
physical view. Don't worry about it. It would appear there regardless of
where it really resides. It is a special folder.
