BIOS update flash versus Product Activation

I have an ASUS Motherboard A7V333 BIOS rev 1007.

I need to flash a BIOS update to get the ASUS Ipanel to
work.

Will a BIOS flash cause me to have to reactivate Windows
XP and Office XP???

It probably won't, but it is possible, depending on how many other
changes you have made to the system since activating it.
I have had product activation go off on me once after updating the VIA
4in1 drivers for my MB, and more recently after updating the firmware
for my CD burner.

Generally, no. But, if you have already made several
changes within the last 120 days, then it is possible that
the BIOS flash will trigger re-activation. This actually
happened to me recently (on a ASUS P4S8X motherboard).
However, it was no real problem. After the on-line re-
activation failed, I dialed the toll-free number listed on
the screen. The Microsoft representaitve was friendly,
and understanding, and walked me through the manual re-
activation, which involved entering a code he provided.
Overall, it was relatively painless. I was soon back in
business.
