bios freeze after cdrw install

my mitsumi 4804te worked in win 98 and also when i
upgraded to xp.now on a new computer(same software used}
it freezes at boot.it is a slave to my dvd as it was
previously-jumpers are ok-basically same config as my
previous computer-anyway around it folks?
 
What do you mean by "BIOS freeze?" When does the system
halt the boot? Do you get a blue screen, black screen, any
messages or beep tones?
