biometric identification with vb.net

Has anyone used a biometric ID device with VB.NET (or even C# if it comes
down to it)? Fingerprint or iris scanner is what I'm looking for, something
that I can ID someone quickly. If you've used a device for this, can you tell
me what device, where you got it maybe?

In fact, regarding the BioCert Authenticator, I do have someone who
create us a sample application in VB.Net
