Hello,

since yesterdat evening I have a mayor windows problem lijke never before.

It started with a start of my pc, when immidiately I got Adwatch (from
adaware-Lavasoft) that there are several changes trying to be made in the
registry. I denied them all. After that, windows wasn't working well so I
restarted the pc.
Firts screen I got was a windows message with only :d- (or something like
iie) in it. From that moment on, I couldn't do anything.

All .exe files and everything that executes them are unable to use. All
startfiles I had are just .lnk files. Really notthing works. No windows
update, no configuration screen just nothing. I cannot boot the windows xp
cd. Even in safe mode I have the same problem. When I go to dos to check
anything it cannot find my main drive. A had a firewall, up to date antivirus
and adwatch. I'm kind of the wizzkid in the neighbourhood, but this never
happend before.

Though I'.m thinking of a virus i am not sure. Does anyone know a
possibility to get the system back to work?

With kind regards, Jan

Ow, I also would be very happy if someone could telle me how to use
windows/system restore when i am unable to open it. Is the a way to use in it
dos orso?

You gaev me hope there. I downloaded the file, and tried to open. But it is
not possible to use it. Becasue the .reg file cannot oipen regedit.EXE to
invert the data. Is there a backdoor to do so?

Hi

You 'may' be able to use System Restore in Safe Mode. Reboot your PC then
keep tapping the F8 key until you come to a 'Dos-like' screen. There are
several options available on that screen, including Safe Mode. If not, then
you will have to try and reinstall System Restore.

also tried that. But i have the same problems in safe mode. i just can't do
anything. The last solution to me is farmatting but also that will be tough I
think. Aren't there any major repar files availbel that install automaticly.
Beacuse ia cannot open any program at all

Thaks so far,

Jan
