Hi, my pc has got a serious boot up problem, the pc does not get to the dos
screen, just makes some wierd noises, clicking, i cant tell where this is
coming from, but thought 1 of my hard discs was on its way out (ive got 3,
and have not had this problem b4 running all 3), so, i did a reinstall to
another drive, still got the problem, i keep powering up/down, and, out of
the blue (no consistency) the pc boots, once its booted, i can reboot with
no problems over and over again.... just a COLD boot, the pc runs like a
dream once booted.....

Any Ideas..?

Hi,

Serious hardware failure. Probably a hairline fracture someplace, could be
on the motherboard, in a memory stick, or the psu. In any case, the way to
fix it is to either swap in known good parts, or bring it to a shop. This is
typical of a fracture, as it works fine when cold, but when heated it gets
flaky.
