Beta1 System exporers/ Realtime problems

O

Ohnooo

I recently saw a thread re that Aroura, did a google
search and found a good removal suggestion. It was at the
top of the search page under the heading Google search
for , I was using Firefox of course. I recommended it to
someone who was having the same problem with it claiming
they got it using Firefox which was boogus. Anyway, I'm
having the same problem with being able to access system
explorers, the page is blank. My Realtime protection
shows all agents active but when I open them shows agent
and system checkpoints inactive and won't activate on all
3. A couple of them shows inactive but strangly
shows...>>deactivate?? I can't activate,
deactivate...nothing. I too have tried
uninstalling/reinstalling 4 times now with the same
results. When I click on view system events, the comp
freezes, have to shut down Beta in task manager. My other
2 comps work perfectly, full functionality...any ideas??
Sorry I'm at a quagmire too. I guess leave it on for a
search only tool, it does update...whether it works or
not??? I use Firefox 98% of the time and haven't any
problems whatsoever for the past 1.5 years using it.
BETA1 did catch an AZE Searchtoolbar, my PestPatrol and
Spysweeper missed on my other comp a few weeks ago. I
bravely decided too wake up MSN IE and sign into my
Netpassport account and check my mail, then look around
on the page abit and got nailed with it. MS Beta caught
it but couldn't eradicate it. Funny part of it too was,
PP didn't catch it and when I went into there spyware
center and found it in their dictionary search, their
removal instructions weren't quite correct, but I was
able to get rid of the lil bugger...go figure...using IE
now is even exhilerating...I'm getting off this thing and
back to FF...sorry for the bad review Microsoft..fix your
browser so people don't need your freebie spyware...a
fish stinks friom the head down...

ohnoo--you seem to have a fixation.

At any rate, the problem with the system explorers has nothing to do with
firefox versus IE--that's completely irrelevant.

Here's the currently recommended fix:
------------------------------------

We believe we have a workaround which is better than installing the VB6 SP.
Can we have users who experience this problem try the following:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

Please let me know if this is working.
