BETA: Outlook 2003 OST problem

Hi,

Anyone seen this when starting Outlook 2003
(11.5329.5329)?

"The file D:\OutlookStore\outlook.ost is already in use
by the maximum number of applications. Close some of
these applications, and then try again."

I've got Outlook configured to deliver all mail to local
PST files and was not expecting to see any OST files at
all. Cab anyone suggest where I might start looking?

Cheers,
Dicky

I haven't used 2003 yet, but if you don't want to use the mailbox you can
disable cache-mode. Frankly, I'd ditch the PST idea and use the mailbox -
better in a lotta ways, and more efficient in terms of space, too.

Hiya,

Haven't switched on the caching mode yet! The current config has been
working fine for about a week but after a comms sessions that got interupted
I can't start Outlook any more.

Cheers,
Dicky

Tried deleting the file but it just kept on coming back.

Fix was to set 'NoOST' under
'HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\OST' from 3 to 2, started
Outlook successfully, then set the value back to 3 and no more OST file.

How wierd is that?

Is there a bug reporting scheme or do MS rely solely on the 'Send Error'
button?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,
Dicky
