Beta 2 and Xbox 360

Has anybody been able to set up an xbox 360 has a media center extender in
Beta 2? My Xbox 360 is detected but after entering the 8 digit code and
choosing options setup fails with a "PC Configuration error". Could this be
because the pc is joined to a domain? Is there a way to fix this problem and
will the shipped vista be able to be joined to a domain and use an xbox 360
extender?
Thank you

If you are in the UK, Xbox 360 will function as an Media Center Extender in
all locales at Windows Vista launch (the
staged roll-out only supports North America and is being done to ensure
that the beta program is as successful as possible.

So I don't think its being Joined to a Domain thats causing this, since you
can log in as local in Vista too.

situation would be apreciated.

I'm having the same problem in NA. I hear the "added hardware" ping and the
xbox goes to a connecting to Media Center screen with moving circles, but it
never gets past this and I get the "reset your extender and pc and try to
setup again" message you are describing. Would like to solve this.

My media center is a little buggy, it flickers and I have to alt-tab through
it to get all the steps.

Also, as following the xbox.com/pcsetup suggestions for Vista Beta 2, the
screen that gives the number zooms past. Have to be quick to write them down.
There should be a "proceed" button on that page.

I had the same problem which was resolved by disabling the network firewall
feature thats built into windows... since my computer is on a private network
anyway, there isn't much point in running the firewall since its already
firewalled at the router level.

So far I've gotten all components to work just fine (Media Center and Media
Library Sharing) with the exception that the direct access from the 360 into
the media list (ie through the console not media center) doesn't list all of
my artists or albums, quite irritating.
