Best way to delete this folder

My friend's system died and I built her a new one. I copied all the
files she had on her old hard drive to a folder on the new hard drive.
Now that I want to get rid of this folder, XP doesn't let me delete
it.

What is the best way to take care of this? Formatting is not an
option since it is on drive C:. Would safe mode let me delete it?
