Best way to change "rogue" slide format to master format in PP 200

I have been sent the PowerPoint presentation from hell to modify and I want
to convert the formatting on existing "manually formatted" slides to a master
format that I create. I have inserted a master slide, but the manual
formatting on the rogue slides supercedes the master slide formatting. What
is the best/easiest way to beat these rogue slides into master conformity?

Reapply the slide layout. You may need to do it twice, but that usually lets
the master formatting "take."

Now, if the author didn't use placeholders, you're in for a lot of manual
formatting, and resetting / reapplying the slide layout probably won't help.
In that case, you'll need to copy the information from the textboxes into
the placeholders and then reapply the slide layout.

Your PPT version got cut off in the subject line, but if you have PPT 2000
around, you can actually drag and drop from a textbox to a placeholder. It's
one reason I still keep PPT 2000 around....

THAT is what is going on!!! The person who created the original presentation
didn't adhere to placeholders!!!! And I am using 2003, but I do have access
to 2000. Thank you so much for such a quick response.... :)

Wow. Excellent website referrals. I am going to try this code... Thank you so
much for your quick response! I think the problem is that the original author
ignored placeholders.

Merci!
