Best practice for upgrading packages?

Hi.

I cannot find the best way to properly upgrade packages via software
deployment.

Here is my issue:

1. Adobe 6.0.0 assigned
2. Adobe 6.0.1 assigned to upgrade 6.0.0

New machines added to domain have some issues and conflicts with these
packages.

What I do not know is what to do with the old package once the upgrade is in
place? Do i remove it or leave it?
