Deploying Office2K3 to replace OfficeXP

I deployed Office XP using GPO when it came out. I want to upgrade to
Office2K3 and deploy using GPO. I added the msi to the GPO of a test OU.
When adding it, it added OfficeXP to the "Packages that this package will
upgrade:" list in the Upgrades tab and it added Office2K3 to the "Packages
in the current GPO taht will upgrade this package:" in the same tab of the
OfficeXP package properties (I know, there are a lot of packages :) ).

What I need to know is:
1. Do I delete the OfficeXP package from the GPO after the Office2K3 has
been deployed or do I leave it?
2. If I leave it, can I delete the AIP for OfficeXP?

Any help would be appreciated.

George,

You should be able to simply 'upgrade' the Office XP installation with the
Office 2003 installation. All you would need to do would be to indicate
this on the Upgrade tab ( I think that it is the upgrade tab....I do not
have anything in front of me right now ). You simply tell the Office 2003
GPO to 'upgrade' the Office XP GPO. I would leave the Office XP AIP around
for a while.

Thank you. As I posted in the original message, the update tab automatically
gets filled in. My main question is if I have to keep the package for
OfficeXP in the GPO or can I remove it (after all computers are upgraded
maybe)?

You need to keep it for a while, because if an installation fails, it needs
to roll back to Office XP.
However after a while you will want to delete it, because in the logs you
will see that it always processes the XP package, then realises it will be
upgraded and moves on,
