Hi all. I have just bought the ATI Radeon x1650pro 512mb card and am looking to get a tft monitor for it aswell. The more HD the better.

It's a minefield out there though! I've been looking at 22" monitors but their displays are 1650x1050 and this format isn't supported by the x1650pro.

I'm going to be using it mainly for manipulating photos and creating digital images, maybe some movie making next year. So what is the best monitor to buy?

I don't see why you can't run your monitor at 1680x1050 (is that the resolution you meant)?

I would be extremely surprised if that card can't run a 22" monitor, In fact I'm 99.99% sure it can ;)

I have an LG L226WTQ 22" which I love :D

1680x1050 - thats the one!

Am confused, as looking at the resolution settings on the card it doesn't state 1680x1050. So does that mean that the screen won't be filled completely?

Have to agree that your monitor looks yummy.

The maximum resolution for that card appears to be 2560 x 1600, so you should be fine :)

I shall be really predictable and recommend the Monitor I'm using, quite simply, it's the best monitor I've ever owned.

And it runs at 1680 x 1050.

Samsung 22" Glossy Black Pebble

Am liking the look of your pebble. But keep reading varying reviews of samsungs. Is the Pebble range actually built by samsung?

Am leaning toward the Belinea 2225S1W at the moment. Only 1000:1 contrast ratio. But what would be the difference between this and 3000:1?

I neither know nor care, really, to be honest ;) All I know is it looks and works great, excellent for gaming and movies.

Thanks for replies. Am pulling my hair out still.

Seeing as 1680x1050 isn't true HD, does it matter whether a monitor has a dvi connection or not, will it make any difference to picture quality?

And has anyone got any opinions on the Asus VW222S?

I would not worry about the screen resolution if I were you as you will more than likely upgrade yourpc at some time and then it would be nice to have a monitor to suit .

If its any help I run a Radeon 9800SE on a 24" monitor and it looks great at whatever resolution I set it at .

Samsung 22" Glossy Black Pebble

Just one question about your pebble. Has it got a glossy screen, if so does this cause reflection problems?

M thanks!
