best game controller for windows xp

I am having trouble finding a game controller for windows
xp. Can anyone tell me what the best controller would be
for xp?

I would say the logetech cordless wingman rumblepad. I
bought it when it came out and has been working fine for
ever since.

You don't say what you're looking for, but get a USB device which feels
comfortable in your hand or hands. If you're into playing certain games, go
to their web sites to see if they have discussion boards where you can ask
for recommendations from people who are playing already.
