Being thrown out of IE and OE

The machine is a PIII, 1Gig. 256 Mb. running WinXP Pro. When trying to
surf, the browser will open to the home page alright, but the second or
third page will bring up an error message, and ask if we want to send it on
to MS. After clicking on either send or don't send, IE is closed down.
There is also an issue in OE when trying to print. We get the print
dialogue box, and then OE is shut down, and of course nothing prints. (The
printer is working and prints from Word.) I downloaded and reinstalled IE,
but no luck. Working in safe mode with networking, I seem to be able to
surf alright. Any and all input will be appreciated before I wipe and
reinstall. TIA PaulG

You should really be using 512Mb for XP (Home or Pro). It is most likely a
memory shortage problem.

Cheers, Peter.

How much memory anyone needs depends on what applications he
runs, but *many* people run Windows XP just fine with 256MB.

likely a memory shortage problem.

Highly unlikely.
