I would like to add that I went thru all your suggestions and checked the
registry also, and everything is set correctly. I did not have any questions
about the ole article. Still no luck.

Ok, I check this and it is set as the default. I do not have Outlook only
OEv.6.

An interesting side note. I have had FF2.x and TBx as default in the past
and also had inter changed them, that is I had FF and TB running and no
problems. This problem has been around for awhile like 2004 or 5. I just
tried to live with it. Also, I found in the registry under current user that
TB was the default client on my username. Could this be the problem? I know
that the article states local machine, but it might be a registry problem
like that. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail

Also, HKEY_USERS\jdj\Software\Clients\Mail is set with TB as the default. So
those two keys are set with TB as default mail client. And HKEY_CURRENT USER
same location. But the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail is set with
OE as the default. Sorry for the messed up post here.

Yes, on occasion I do use these programs FF and TB. I believe this problem
started before that installation.

I never had a problem interchanging these vendors. The link problem has been
around for sometime now. I have done Gary's [clean boot] process. I have
repaired\reinstalled IEv.6. I have checked most of these registry items
manually, that is visually without altering anything in the registry and
that would be the only "questionable points" I have found so far, there may
be others I don't know of.

I'd uninstall TBird and reassert OE as the default again. Should you wish
to reinstall TBird, choose to do a Custom install and do NOT accept the
prompt for TBird to become the default Mail Client.

I can try that approach. I still think it came with q823353 and q837009.
Another thought was NYTimes was an early blocker of sending links and
webpages from remote machines. Has anyone seen or experienced a problem like
this from those types of websites that persists? However, like I said
earlier, I do cleanboot fairly often at least monthly sometimes weekly.
