BCM 2007 Causes Outlook to freeze

Business Contact Manager 2007 seems to cause Outlook 2007 to freeze up and
stop working several times per hour. I uninstalled BCM 2007 and the problem
was fixed. Is there any cure or work around for this problem? I would really
like to use Business Contact Manager.

Thanks,

Keith

Keith, I'm sorry you are having trouble.

Can you provide any other details? How long does it freeze? Anything
special you are doing when it freezes? And which CPU and how much memory do
you have?

Thanks, Chris

Happens to us also. I have totally turned off the email folder monitoring
and it seems to help -- though i understand that the email monitoring is
half the reason to use it...

Outlook 2007 freezes immediately upon loading. I have to use Task Manager to
close it. The problem went away when I uninstalled BCM. I'm using an intel
Pentium 4 with 1 gb RAM.

Thanks,

Keith

I'm also getting freezing (actually hanging) in Outlook 2007 that causes me
to End Task a few times a day. I'm not sure if it's BCM related, though. I
don't want to uninstall BCM because I'm trying to learn it. I've got a P4
with 2 GB RAM.

Mine has progressed from freezing to

"Business Contact Manager failed to load
Business Contact Manager failed to initialize the Common Language Runtime
Unknown error 0x80131700"

Even in Safe Mode. Even after repairing Office 2007 and rebooting. And then
running the Outlook repair wizard.

Searching through microsoft.com for 0x80131700, it appears that in the
past their suggestion was to reinstall .NET, but given that on
Vista .NET is built-in, you'll probably have to contact Microsoft for
advice.

Hi - I am Will Robertson. I am having the same issue but have traced it to an
external hard drive I have attached to my lap top. I use the drive for easy
portability from office to home and keep a PST file on it. Outlook 2003
worked fine with this drive. 2007 BCM gives me this message when the drive is
turned on, pluged into the USB port and ready...

BCN has encountered an error and must close down.

Problem is all of outlook 2007 closes down and unless that external hard
drive is turned off or unpluged outlook 2007 will not stay turned on.

Any ideas? Tried to get to MS on this but it's nearly impossible.
