BCM 2007 and 2003 Compatability

Can BCM 2003 import data from BCM 2007?
I've tried exporting 2007 .bcm data and importing into 2003 and receive an
error "Wrong File Version."
Exporting the 2007 BCM contacts to a .pst file and then importing to the
2003 BCM contacts results in numerous duplicates of the same contact, (and
every contact) even if I delete the 2003 BCM contacts first (essentially
importing into an empty BCM contact list). This also occurs with the
Accounts list.
Any suggestions on accomplishing this task?
Thanks,
RB

The exported file is an XML file you can edit with notepad. Change the
version numbers to a number acceptable to BCM 2003, and try importing
again.

Thanks, Luther, Changing the version allowed an import. Unfortunately, it
seems some data such as "Comments" was not imported.
Are there any plans for future comatability between the two versions?

That may be because they added support for rich text in the comments
in 2007, and 2003 can only import plain text into that field.

As a rule of thumb, newer versions of BCM can import files from older
versions. I don't know about their future plans.

I'm having the same issue. My client has a new desktop with BCM 2007, but her
laptop has BCM 2003. Upgrading her laptop is not in the budget, so she needs
a way to transfer data from BCM 2007 to 2003. I tried the change version
number trick and she was able to import contact data, but not e-mail history.
Is there a work around for this?
