Battery not found

I have a Sony Vaio and my battery isn't being shown down on the taskbar and
when I go to control panel, power options, and look at the power meter, it
saying that there isn't a battery located. My laptop will come on if it's
plugged in. Once I unplug it, it turns off. The battery is not being
detected. This is the first time I've had this problem. Does anyone know
how to correct this problem.

Try removing and replacing the battery. Also, try replacing it with a
working battery; yours may have now failed.
