Hi
I've recently downloaded baseline security analyser and
having carried out a scan have come up with a couple of
issues that need addressing - however I'm having
problems - I have windows xp home
1 MS02-55 reason C:\windows/system 32\hhctr\.ocx has
file version that is greater than expected when I go to
link to vcorrect this i download the relevant patch
however on rescanning it is still highlighted as an issue

2MS03-021 reason windows\system 32\wmp.dll has file
version [9.0.0.3075] that is greater than expected
[9.0.0.3008] - when I go to the patch I'm told I dont
need it as I already have windoew player 9 installed
Any clue why this is happening, are the 2 issues serious
and if so how do I correct

thanks
David

Detection is a complex issue, and the analyzer errs on
the side of caution. In general, when it notes that a
version is higher than expected you are OK as later
version include patches integrated at an earlier version.

I downed the same and still get all the same errors or
icons that say i need ????? i go get it and then
restart . stiil get the same items that i had just
downloaded or installed ...grrrrrrrrrrrr
Now if you start up in "SAFE mode " w/o int. conection
THIS PROGRAM WILL NOT EVEN RUN!!!! THIS PROGRAM MUST LINK
sTR8 TO MICROSOFT ..
p.s. YES CACHE WAS CLENNED TEMP FILES DUMPED, CONTENT
PASSWORDS/FORM FEILDS CLEARED ETC...
I hope it will work soon .. tells me I need some major
security patches/download.....over n over n over again
