Bandwidth Monitor

Ive been looking for a bandwidth monitor (for DSL), that shows upload
/download in a system tray icon.Most of the ones ive found any good are not
freeware or dont have the system tray icon or dont work on windows 98.Any
ideas appreciated.

Try MyVitalAgent from Lucent. Google for it...

I don't know if it works with DSL, however.

Thanks..I used to use that when I was on dial up , however I dont think it

Yes, it goes into the tray, but you have to hover over it to get your basic
stats, or click it to show/hide the graph.

I recommend NicMeter which works if you are using broadband through a
network interface card. It's freeware, has various display modes and
logging by day/week/month. Unfortunately the author seems to have
abandoned it. The web page is www.nicmeter.com but the download link is
broken. You can download it directly from here (0.5MB):

NetPerSec from PC Magazine Utilities does this nicely, but unfortunately
it's no longer freeware. If you're determined, though, it shouldn't be too
hard to find a mirror somewhere.
