BAD_POOL_CALLER

My system was constantly restarting. Once the start up process reached the
XP splash screen, it would automatically power off and restart. A cold boot
gave me the option to start in safe mode. At a certain point it would again
automatically power off and restart and power off at the XP splash screen.
It was a continuous loop. So, I decided to reinstall XP.

While trying to reinstall XP the system had an error BAD_POOL_CALLER

0x000000C2 (0x00000007, 0x00000CD4, 0x01100112, 0x8430C4B8),

The message stated if I had not seen this message before to restart the
computer. I did and now the system will not start with or without the XP
CD. Immediately on starting the power button turns amber.

This all started when the cable company was unable to install DSL because of
a conflict with parental control software. I was told no new software was
installed, nor was any hardware installed inside the case; only the modem
was connected to the computer. I have removed the cable from the system.

The kids are livid without their computer and cable DSL is still costing.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
