Bad XP Home Disk???

While loading XP Home Full Edition, I can get as far as
the the first RESTART but right after it restarts
while "Setup is inspecting hardware configuration" I get
this error message:

An unexpected error (0) occurred at line 1768 in
d:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c

It then says Press any key to continue but by pressing a
key it restarts the sequence all over again but stops at
the same place with the same error.

Does this mean there is an error on the XP program disk?
or with my hardware?
