Everytime I try to use my CD rewriter to do a backup using
the backup prog from XP CD, it fails. Is this anything to
do with Easy CD Creator having " the burning rights " on
my system?

Hi Fred,

The backup program included with WinXP was not designed for use with CDRW's.
Create the backup file on the hard drive, then use your writing software to
copy it to disk.

Hi Fred,

I have had a similiar problem using Easy CD Creator - the issue was in the
support files that came along with easycd creator - you must be an
administrator to burn CD's - how silly is that?

To use a CD-RW as output medium from any program, you need the Direct CD
(now Drag to Disk) that comes with Easy CD - the inbuilt burning does
not support it, nor does Easy CD itself. And turn the inbuilt burning
off. (See more at http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm)

Also the inbuilt backup does not recognise a CD as being a removable
device, so it will in any case not 'span' a backup over a set of disks.
