Backup with Nero 5 to DVD+RW

I backup all my personal files using Nero 5 and a DVD+RW disc. Checking on
the back up, I found that all the word files were there but if I open them,
they just show zeros. All of them! If I back up the word files alone, no
problem. Can anybody try to explain such a thing?
