Backup to an External Harddrive

I have an external hardrive (F) and would like to backup
my C: drive to it. The backup utility that comes with
Windows XP Home doesn't allow me to do this, and Drive
Image 2002 doesn't work with XP. How can I do this backup?

Do you want to make an image Bup or just data back-up without OS or
programs? There are plenty of other backup programs.

Using the MS backup, if you have a second internal hd you can back up to
that. I believe you can also back up to a partition on your master hard
drive or to a folder on your master hard drive. Then you could copy the
folder or backup to your external hd. Otherwise, a program like
Norton(Symantec) Ghost (ver 2003 or 2004) will do the job, as well as
other backup programs.
