c: drive backup with XP Home

I'm preparing to replace my internal harddrive and need
to backup the drives contents. I have an external usb
harddrive to backup to. I've installed the backup
utility from the XP installation disc. The problem I'm
having is that I get an error message saying I can only
back up a maximum of 4 gigs with FAT32. I have just over
12 gigs I'm trying to back up. Can someone please tell
me how I can backup the entire contents of the drive?

Format the drive you are backing up to with NTFS.
