Any one have a suggestion for good backup software for XP
Home. I'm interested in software that will allow me to
seutp automatic backups to a secondary drive in the
primary machine and also backup to another machine on my
home network.

I have not used any software that can do all of what you
are requesting. But, if you want to backup only personal
files (not operating system files and programs), think
about the old DOS command "XCOPY", which is now part of
XP. I use it to manually backup all files that are new or
have changed from one internal hard drive to another and
from an internal hard drive to an external USB drive.

As for automatically running a command, you could try the
XP scheduler. However, it does not work for me, because I
have chosen to have no password for my primary identity.
But, there are third-party calender/popup/scheduler tools
available, and some are free. For example,
http://atnotes.fr.st/

If you are looking for proffessional backup software,
start with some of the following:

Norton GHOST
Power Quest DriveImage
Acronis TrueImage
Retrospect Backup ?
