Hello world!

I know that I could backup *.dbx files....to backup,say,Inbox
messeges...The
question is...If HD crashes and I do the clean install, then what?
how to import from that .dbx files real messeges to new OE 6?

Thanks in advance,
Alon.

Outlook Express, File > Import > Messages > Store Location.

Yep, you would have to import the data rather than just plop it in
place, and you may have version issues, given that OE is chained to
the version of IE which is in turn limited by the OS's base version.

This is one reason why I do not use MSware for email.

If this is a problem in practice, then I'd use Eudora as a "halfway
house", as follows:

1) Install Eudora
2) Import mail into Eudora using Advanced to navigate to it
3) Virus scan/clean the attachments that this process exposes
4) Start the new OE and import mail from Eudora

In practice, I'd stop at (3) and carry on using Eudora instead. See
http://cquirke.mvps.org/9x/eudwhy.htm as to why.
