Backup problems with MSSMLBIZ

Hi,
Don't know if this is the correct forum, but thought I'd start somewhere as
it's an issue linked to BCM2007.

We're running Small Business Server 2003 & using Veritas Backup Exec for
Wiindows Servers V10.0 to backup to tape.

At the moment, we're receiving a number of error messages as follows;
however, if we add these files to the backup, it "hangs"

So, the question is... has anyone else experienced these problems?
Obviously, until I'm sure that we're maintaining an up to date backup, I'm
reluctant to rely too much on BCM2007 in case we lose data. In addition, I'm
looking to install SBA2008, but have the same concerns that it won't be
backed up

And now the error messages...

It looks like Veritas is not stopping the SQL service before it tries to do
a backup. BCM and all other SQL databases have a "hold" on them by the SQL
service and I thought that programs like Veritas could handle that.

You might also check the BCM Team Blogs for a SQL backup solution for the
BCM databases (that could work for other databases also...).

Cheers for this, Ron.

It confirmed something that I'd had hinted at by others (but 2+ "hints" = 1
"near certainty"!!!), so I've passed your comments (& MSDN link) on to my
techie guy to take a look at.

Thanks for your help
