Backup not installed or on CD

I want to back up my registry and system before editing the registry (some of
my programs are missing from add/remove panel).

Backup isn't installed under Accessories/system Tools. When I loaded the XP
CD to install it, it isn't there either.

Where else should I look? I'm running XP Home SP2.

It's on the XP CD in \VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP Double click on
Ntbackup.msi and it will install.

Is your CD a retail one or did your system come preinstalled on your
machine and you only have a recovery one, if so not all system builders
will give you the backup program just the OS and whatever rubbish they
think you may need.

Thanks for all these replies. Sorry I haven't replied before, but I haven't
been able to get the page to load! I just get 404 pages - I've tried on other
machines, same results. Now suddenly it loads OK. Odd!

I'll try all these suggestions - thanks.
