backup document files

I'm trying to backup my document files. I've followed the
instructions, but my Accessories>System Tools> does not
have a "backup" command. Everything I've read says that
it should. I have "disk cleanup" "defrag" "character map"
etc, but no "backup". Can anyone help? Thanks.

Lucky for you I'm an insomniac tonight. (It's 3 AM.) For some reason - which
I don't know - Microsoft decided not to include its backup program in the
default install of the Home edition. You've probably got the program on your
Windows XP CD. To install it, follow these friendly directions from
Microsoft:

"HOW TO: Install Backup from the CD-ROM in Windows XP Home Edition"

XP Pro has a backup utility but XP Home doesn't. However,
one of the Microsoft MVP's on this site has a way to
activate the backup in XP Home - which is how I got mine to
work. Unfortunately I can't remember which MVP it was. Try
