Backup Disk was not completed

Hello,
I did a Backup of my laptop to an external hard drive but it required a
Backup disk to be made after the Backup was completed. My laptop does not
have a floppy drive. So therefore the Backup disk was not made and according
to Windows XP Pro Backup utility, the Backup is not useful.
Any ideas or assistance on how to make a clean Backup and disk or data that
will be useful?
Thanks in advance,
Willy C

There are many superior alternatives to Windows Backup. What's appropriate
depends on just how much you want to back up - the entire system, or just
selected data?

If you want a complete image of the hard disk, consider imaging applications
like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost. If you want to back up just your
data, like documents and emails, something like Avantrix Backup Plus can
work well. There are others - these are examples I have used and had good
results with.

Keep in mind that if you are using Outlook, Outlook Express or the Windows
Address book, their default locations are by default hidden directories.
To see them, you must open Explorer, go to Tools, Folder Options, View, and
turn on Show hidden files and Folders.

Also, you should be aware that if you are doing a simple file-copy backup of
the entire system, this won't be bootable, and so is not as useful as an
image or a selective backup.
