Backup advice requested

I suspect this question is very basic and shows how much a novice I am with
Win XP-Home. I have purchased a new computer (Gateway 500S) with two 80GB
internal hard drives, an external ZIP 250, DVD-ROM drive, and a CR-RW (oh,
and 512MB 333 MHz DDR SDRAM). It will be running Windows XP-Home (I have
used WIN98 for years and am VERY inexperienced with XP).

In view of the configuration described, what is the BEST, most efficient way
to back up my primary hard drive on this system? I don't EVER want another
hard drive crash (without a backup, anyway).

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and advice.

Best to image the drive with software like drive image7 or acornis true
image. Then save that image to your second internal drive or burn it to
multiple cdrw's. In the event of a crash those programs can restore your
computer from the image.
