Hi, I am trying to do a backup on XP Pro and the wizard
is asking me to insert a floppy. I would prefer to use a
CD but can't seem to figure out how....Anybody know?
Thanks, Joia

so what do you do?....seems to me I would need a lot of
floppy's to back up my system.

Backup to the hard drive and then copy to CD. It's faster than backing up
directly to CD.

If you wish to backup directly to CD, then you need software that supports
it. XP backup can do it but you need to install packet writing software
such as the Direct CD or Drag and Drop component of Easy CD Creator,
www.roxio.com or the InCD component of Nero, www.nero.com in order to do so
as XP's native CD burning function does not support packet writing which
allows a user to drag and drop directly to CD or Save directly to CD. This
is required to burn a backup directly to CD.

ok, thanks for your help

Either pruchase backup software that supports writing to CD's or purchase cd
burning software that supports spanning to more than 1 Cd (Nero 6 and EZ
Cd6). If you purchase or have the Cd burning software just backup to your
hard drive and burn to CD's.
