Athough I can drag and drop a file onto R/W drive and
write it to disk, I am unable to bacup my Quicken. I get
the message "Unable to write to drive G." Status is
good in Device Manager and going through the
entire "troubleshooter" provides no answer. Can anyone
out there help me? Thanks

Apparently Quicken doesn't support backing up this way. Put the backup
file somewhere you'll find it - in My Documents, for instance - and
from there you can drag it onto your cdrw drive.

Don't use the backup mechanisms in Quicken, just close out Quicken, then
drag and drop your data folders. If you need to restore, you would just
drag and drop them from your backup CD to the correct folders on your disk
drive.

Did not notice that you said Quicken. Windows XP's CD Burning Wizard and
Quicken do not get along. Try consulting Quicken for more info.

Then mark them re-writable.

Better still - install InCD or Direct CD 5 (or later) and use rw disks.

The inbuilt burning does not support use of CD-RW in packet mode as
output medium for *any* program. See http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm
