I have instaled and configured a portableUSB hard drive, however, I do not
know how to actually back up my files. The only help I have found on the
Windows help site is for the Vista version. Any help would be greatly
appreciated!! Thanks.

You can Google 'backup' or 'backup utility'.
There are so many and each have their pros and cons. Some cost, some
free. Most people like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost, both for
sale. They will clone, image, or do file backups.

Even a drag and drop will work.
I use a batch file that I run every time I turn on my pc. I is simply a
series of xcopy commands to copy pieces of my system to my thumb drive.
Nothing great but mail and a few password files, config files, etc.
The things that will really screw up my life.
