I want to use a cd-rw to back-up my Quicken98 files using windowsXP. I did
it on my old computer (windows98) using directCD. I try it now and it says
the drive is not accessible. I'm not given a format option and I'm
wondering if the recordnow program comes with packet writing software or if
I have to upgrade to make it work?

After reading this post, I myself haven't tried CDRW since I've installed XP
Pro. I used 98 with Direct CD as well and worked great.

I just tried popping in a CDRW disc (already had files on it) and now when I
click on My Computer, nothing comes up. It's a blank page and it freezes up
explorer. Then I have to restart my PC with the disc out. Any
thoughts/experience?

XP recognizes my Samsung 16-10-32 CD-RW as an RW drive in explorer and I've
used Roxio 6 with XP to burn CD's.

I use RecordNow to create my backups. If you have it, open and select "Make
a data disk"; after disk insertion, follow the steps to get access to your
files/folders to copy.
