CD-RW Problems...

I recently had to use my restore discs to start over on my HP Laptop. I have
XP Home. After installing all my software, my CD-RW does not come up in my
Send To menu. Plus there is no recording tab in the properties for it. I
have tried to follow the MS instructions on their website, but nothing seems
to work.

I have check and tried KB's 270008, 314060, 326982, 320553, 315350. My CD-RW
is a Toshiba SD-R2102 and is listed in the HCL. I've updated my RecordNow
software. I have all the XP updates.

In my device manager, there is only the Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R2102 listed.
(Not sure if there is supposed to be something else.)

My questions are, what can I do to fix this problem? Can I uninstall my
CD-RW from the device manager and still be able to reinstall it later?
(Won't I be unable to access my CD-RW until the CD-RW is installed?) Will
uninstalling and then reinstalling fix the problem?

Thank,
Fred

Why would you not call HP regarding this. It's their computer. You probably
didn't follow procedure, load ALL the software/drivers or some other simple
thing.
