Background Music with Narration

Dick

In Power Point 97 I was able to play background music via
a sound object from slide one to the end while injecting
narrations on individual slide transitions. How can I do
that in PP 2002. The narrations always stop the
background music..

Howdy Dick,

What type of file is your background music? WAV files
will be stopped by the narration (which is a WAV file
essentially), but I've successfully used MPG files that
continue playing while sound effects and/or narrations are
played.

Dick,
Short version:
You need to adjust the options for the animation of the sound. They kind of
hid this in PPT 2002. First, bring up the custom animation task pane for the
slide where the sound starts. You should see an animation to start the
sound. Right click the animation, bring up the effect options. On one of the
tabs, you will see the setting you are looking for.
