Background music problem

We are having a problem putting background music into am email so the
recipient can hear it. It works fine from my computer but not my wife's.
She is running Windows XP Home with Office 2003 (and Outlook 2003) and I
have Windows XP Pro, Office XP (and Outlook XP). We both seem to be set up
the same with respect to Outlook & Word and I can put background music into
an email to her and she can hear it. However, we are unable to do this
successfully from her end.

A friend mentioned that the code (in my wife's email) shows a link to a
music file on her hard disk which would explain why no one else can hear the
music. However, I don't even know how to look at the code. We have followed
the instructions in the Outlook help file faithfully to no avail. Again, it
works from my computer but not from hers. I have also noticed that if I go
to my sent items folder and open an email I sent with background music, the
music plays. On my wile's computer, the music plays before she sends the
email but after it is sent and she opens it from the sent items file - the
music does not play.

We are both using Word as the email editor with email in HTML format.

Any ideas?

Update - it seems that it is not an Outlook problem (I don't think) since
some MID & WAV files will play as expected while others do not. Now, the
problem is, how can we distinguish between an MID or WAV file that will work
and one that will not... other than trial and error?
